In July 2023, I had the pleasure of photographing Amy & Jamie’s wedding at Roodlea Barn! Amy is originally from London, so a lot of the wedding party came up from down south to enjoy the day in the beautiful Ayrshire countryside. In good old Scottish fashion, there was scattered showers at points but this didn’t spoil the day in the slightest. I arrived in the morning for prep and my lovely second shooter, Whitney, arrived to photograph the groom prep.

Roodlea Barn is a blank canvas venue, so it was a team effort from the couple and the family to help decorate the venue for the day! Also, Amy did most of the stationary herself which is a huge task. Well done Amy! Everything looked beautiful.

There’s a beautiful house onsite that you can get ready in and I absolutely love it! So many beautiful spots with the loveliest window light coming through. It’s also a big bonus as you don’t need to worry about traffic on the day! You can stroll on over to your wedding ceremony.

These moments between Amy, her Mum and her immediate loved ones are some of my favourites from the day. You could feel so much love, excitement and pride in the air!

Now it’s time for the ceremony! It’s such a beautiful space. I know I keep banging on about window light… but the light from the large glass windows and doors is just amazing!!

Most of my couples are usually quite awkward in front of the camera but Amy & Jamie relaxed into it so easily! They're both originally from an acting background so we had some fun with the group photos and I loved capturing their couples shoot. So much love between these two! It’s just beautiful to see.

Their dog Douglas even made an appearance! How cute is this little guy?!

They went outside to practice their first dance while the videographer and I tagged along. It’s fair to say we were excited!

And to top everything off, one of Amy’s best friends sang their first dance. WOW! What a day. I can’t thank Amy & Jamie enough for having me. It really was a privilege to be there! A day I’ll never forget filled with so much love.
